Dr. Amanda Templeton received her PhD from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where for 7 years she led clinical trial work that resulted in the creation of an evidence-based protocol for developing personalized cancer treatment plans. Applying her skills to the human services sector, Dr. Templeton served as the Director of Research and Advocacy for United Way of Central Oklahoma where she orchestrated the quantitative and qualitative assessments to monitor trends and identify emerging concerns as well as evaluate nonprofit organizations for quality, efficiency, and reach. She also supported community initiatives and organizations by providing expert knowledge and skills in large-scale data collection, management, analysis, and translation from numbers to action-oriented next steps. In this role, she also served as health and human services data subject matter expert to local and state officials. In 2019 Dr. Templeton continued to follow her passion to improve her community and founded Measure Up, an organization committed to connecting accountable nonprofit organizations and government agencies with the resources needed to enhance and expand their community impact. Frequently invited to train at national conferences on engagement strategies (who you are), communicating impact (what you do), and attracting new funders (why people should join you), Dr. Templeton is known for asking the hard questions and navigating organizations to the easist, most effective solutions. In 2020 alone, her and her staff helped their clients develop strategies to address a 400% increase in client services, secure more than $2.5 million, and navigate business operations during a global crisis.
