Communications Specialist - Video

Position Location: Oklahoma City, Okla.

 Position Summary: A full-time position in the Communications Dept. that works as a team with three other full-time employees

 Duties & Responsibilities

Writing

  • Copy edit and coordinate with authors on 3-6 articles a month for the Oklahoma Bar Journal
  • Write news releases
  • Edit news items for the OBJ Bench and Bar Briefs section
  • Write obituaries for the OBJ In Memoriam section
  • Write scripts for the annual Ask A Lawyer TV show


Coordinate

  • Work with committee members, award recipients and staff to coordinate the OBA Awards
  • Work with committee members, OETA and a production company to create the annual Ask A Lawyer TV show
  • Help coordinate and promote the Annual Meeting
  • Help coordinate and promote annual statewide Law Day activities


Social Media

  • Create video and photo content for the OBA ‘s social media accounts
  • Manage the OBA’s Instagram account and Google ads
  • Livestream swearing in ceremonies and award ceremonies

Photography

  • Photograph 3-4 swearing in ceremonies a year
  • Photograph bar events
  • Photograph headshots as needed


Video

  • Create promotional videos for major events
  • Create biographical videos of the bar president for use on social media throughout the year
  • Create videos for public information on consumer legal issues
  • Expand utilization of video in all communications

 
Qualifications

  • A graduate of an accredited college or university with a degree in communications, journalism or public relations
  • Skilled in grammar, spelling and AP Style
  • Experience writing news releases
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience proof reading and copy editing
  • Candidate must be skilled in photography, have an understanding of DSLR cameras, posing and photo editing
  • Candidate must have experience in creating content for social media and managing social media accounts
  • Candidate must be skilled in start to finish video production.
  • Candidate must be proficient in Adobe Premiere and After Effects
  • Legal experience not required

 
Salary range:  $28,000 – $42,000 depending on experience
