What started as an idea to share the magic of a birthday with homeless children in Dallas has grown from Paige Chenault's home to a vibrant nonprofit organization helping children in 12 cities across the United States.

Paige began The Birthday Party Project (TBPP) in 2012 to help children experience the joy of celebrating their lives. They have held more than 3,000 birthday bashes across the country with 19,000 children in attendance.

How was Paige able to grow her nonprofit from her local area to 12 cities across the country?

Grassroots.

Paige used grassroots efforts to build momentum for TBPP and from there, things took off. She now has more than 9,000 volunteers. Paige also strategically seeks out relationships and focuses on maintaining them. Partners include Citibank, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Papa Johns and Sofia Vergara.

Join us to celebrate the magic of birthdays and hear from Paige as she shares what she learned from her grassroots efforts and her secrets to developing and maintaining relationships.

PRSA gives back!

The Oklahoma City Chapter of PRSA loves a good party, especially a party with a wonderful purpose – bringing joy and smiles to homeless children! TBPP has not yet expanded to OKC* but that doesn’t mean we can’t support the important work they do. As part of this year’s PR 360, we’ve decided to collect supplies for TBPP to make it easier for them to fulfill their mission.

Please consider bringing some of the following items with you to PR360:

  • Party supplies (hats, blowers, banners, birthday badges);
  • Toys (all ages, $30 value, although items of smaller value can be combined with others when given);
  • Plastic round and rectangular tablecloths in solid colors;
  • Gift wrapping supplies and bags; and
  • Gift cards (Target, Walmart, VISA, Toys ‘R Us).

*If you know of a local homeless organization that might want to partner with TBPP, please contact TBPP at 972-290-0908 or hello@thebirthdaypartyproject.org or invite them to the PR360 luncheon.

Paige Chenault

Paige Chenault has been an entrepreneur in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. In 2005, Paige started an event planning company, Paige Chenault Events. Over the years, Paige created a strong brand while sticking to her core values and giving her clients her best always advocating on their behalf, being a good steward of their resources, and having fun along the way.

By 2011, Paige was managing more than 4 million dollars in events around the country…but she felt challenged to do more. After the birth of their daughter, Lizzie, Paige was inspired to give back. Taking her passion for helping others and her ability to plan spectacular and meaningful events, she decided that celebrating others was her purpose in life. After years of research and consideration, in 2012, Paige embarked on a new journey andThe Birthday Party Project was born.

The mission of The Birthday Party Project is to bring JOY to homeless children through the Magic of Birthdays. With the amazing support of its birthday enthusiasts (volunteers), The Birthday Party Project hosts monthly birthday parties at homeless and transitional living facilities. After starting with one party a month at one shelter with 60 kids, The Birthday Party Project now celebrates with 15 agencies a month in 4 cities across the country with over 750 kids in attendance. Expansion to additional national markets is planned for 2015.

Paige is passionate about all things Giving. She and her husband, Colin, live in Dallas with their almost-seven-year-old daughter, Lizzie, who remains the inspiration behind all their efforts.
