We go there for the best happy hour in Oklahoma, laugh at loud at their commercials and appreciate their roller-skating Carhops. But, behind the scenes, what really makes Sonic tick? Lee Ann Bratten, APR, director of internal communications for Sonic, America's Drive-In, will share how Sonic successfully communicates not only at its headquarters, but also to thousands of drive-ins to keep its messaging and brand consistent. Bratten will discuss Sonic case studies that will remind attendees that no matter the size of an organization, good communications begins on the inside. A native of Midwest City, Bratten is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Economics and minors in French and Business. She earned an M. Phil. by Research in English Literature as a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Prior to joining Sonic in 2001, Lee Ann worked at OU for three years as the special events coordinator. Bratten currently serves as a trustee of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, President of the OU Theatre Guild, Secretary of the Alpha Iota Chapter of Delta Gamma House Corporation Board, a director of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oklahoma, and is a member of the PR Committee for Infant Crisis Services. Bratten received a Regents' Alumni Award from the University of Oklahoma in May 2008. In the fall of 2007, she was named one of OKC Business' Forty under 40 and was a member of the inaugural LOYAL (Linking Oklahoma City's Young Adult Leaders) class through Leadership OKC. Learn how local restaurant groups are incorporating social media into their marketing strategies. Panelists will discuss how social media has specifically impacted their businesses, why social media has been a successful tool for them and how it compliments their overall marketing strategies. #eatntweet Featuring: Ryan Parrott began his cooking career at age 15, and from this first job a passion and career was born. Parrott has held positions at many popular locally-owned establishments, including the Petroleum Club, Switzer's Lighthouse, Boulevard Steakhouse and 501 Ranch Steakhouse. In 2003, Parrott joined the new ownership group of Deep Fork Grill, and then joined Robert Painter and Steve Mason as a partner in bringing back Iguana Mexican Grill, which opened in July 2008. In addition, Parrott has started his own catering company called Seasons, and a one-table concept called Table ONE. Keith Paul began his career in the restaurant industry after moving to Oklahoma and accepting a sales representative position at Ben E. Keith, where he met his future wife Heather, also a sales representative. In 1997, the couple married and began talking about owning their own restaurants. Hearing that Cheever’s Café was for sale, Paul decided it was time to pursue the dream of owning a series of restaurants, and as a result, The Good Egg Dining Group was formed in 2000. The Pauls opened Iron Starr Urban BBQ in 2002, with a second location opening in Norman in 2009, and opened Red Prime Steak in 2007. Pops also joined the The Good Egg Dining Group in 2007. The Good Egg Dining Group also recently opened Market C in a renovated gas station just north of Downtown Oklahoma City. | |||||||||||||
