New Pros

New Pros is the place for the fresh out of college, the slightly experienced and those who remember being new to the industry. All are welcome to join our diverse group of young people who meet once a month to connect with industry peers and hear from keynote PR professionals in all avenues of Oklahoma City. No membership in PRSA required.

Who is Welcome?

Although our group is aimed at the newly established, up-and-coming PR professionals, we invite anyone to join. Communicators of all ages: Newbs, slightly experienced, and those wanting to return to their roots in public relations, marketing, advertising, journalism and communications. Our groups is just as diverse as the industry of PR.

What will you gain from PRSA?

  1. Insight on relevant topics from keynote lunch speakers from all avenues of PR in OKC. We ask them to share a relevant perspective aimed at our group of individuals over a variety of topics. (media, research, event planning, non-profit, government)
  2. Connection to peers in a similar and constantly growing PR industry of OKC
  3. The opportunity to try PRSA OKC with little financial commitment to you (membership in PRSA is encouraged for your professional development, but not required to be involved in New Pros?

Meet the Committee

Maggie Fair Account Coordinator, Schnake Turnbo Frank

Maggie graduated from Oklahoma State University in December 2012 with a degree in strategic communications with an emphasis in public relations. During her time at OSU, she was involved in student chapters of PRSA and the Association for Women in Communications. She interned with the Oklahoma City Thunder while she was in school and assisted with community relations and corporate communications. After graduating, Maggie interned with Schnake Turnbo Frank, where she later started full-time as an account coordinator in December 2013. During her time with STF, Maggie has assisted in strategic and creative planning, event coordination, research, media realations and community relations. In addition to co-chairing the New Pros committee in 2015, Maggie serves on the board of directors for OK Humane's new young professionals organization, the PAW Pack. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, running and working out, and cooking.

 

Kayla Coffey Account Coordinator, Vann & Associates

Kayla is an account coordinator at Vann & Associates, responsible for maintaining and writing content for social media, newsletters, websites, collateral and news releases. She also collaborates with senior staff for marketing, brand development and event planning. She is an alumna of Oklahoma State University and Alpha Omricon Pi. Kayla is new to the communications field, but excited to finally be here. She enjoys morning runs with her great dane, Simon, and searching for hidden treasures at metro thrift stores.
